My desire to help people started when I was young, always raising money for various charities, different door knocks, raffles, fundraising events. In 2014, I founded One Little Heart. It has always been a hobby of mine and for a long time I made absolutely nothing from the projects I ran. I first started with the One Little Box project, which allowed people to purchase a box for Mother’s Day or Valentines Day and the money that would have been spent on flowers, is instead donated to charity. The box contained multiple little items, a photo of the recipient’s favourite flowers and a cute personalised card. I charged $100, with $90 going to a charity of the buyer’s choice. The $10 only just covered the items in the box, but not the hours it took for me to put them together and the hours I spent liaising with 27 different charities. While this wasn’t a good long-term business model, it made me truly happy and it was a nice break from what could be challenging, long work days. 

So when I decided to publish a book, I knew it had to have a social conscience aspect. This is what makes my heart truly happy and makes the hours worth it. For the book, I have teamed up with Greg Page (the Original Yellow Wiggle and Cardiac Arrest Survivor) and $1 from every book sold will go to the charity that Greg founded, Heart of the Nation. For every 1000 books sold, an AED will be donated! So by simply purchasing the book, you could be helping to save a life!
